Travel Tips - Super Special Surprise in SAND diego...

You won't believe your eyes when attending the US Sand Sculpting Challenge and 3D Art Exposition September 1 - 4, 2017! Professional Master Sand sculptors come from around the world to compete in this amazing four-day contest. Artists from Italy, Ireland, the Netherlands and Canada as well as from exotic places like Latvia and Singapore, look forward to challenging the best sculptors in the U.S. You’ll fall in love with these astounding works of art as you browse and watch as the artists place their finishing touches on their works before the judging begins.

Sadly, these sand sculptures weigh over 10 tons each and you can't take them home as they’d ruin your lawn! But.... the good news is guests can meander around the festival and purchase the work of other participating artists who create pieces in a range of media including jewelry, metal, glass and ceramics. Finally, with attractions such as live musical entertainment, sand sculpting classes and gourmet food trucks, this family-friendly festival offers something for guests of all ages.
